Choose Lake Rosseau
Lake Rosseau is home to the largest island in the “Big Three”—picturesque Tobin Island. On the lake’s northern tip is the town of Rosseau which, along with the communities of Port Sandfield, Port Carling, Windermere, and Minnett can be accessed by boat in 15 minutes or less from just about anywhere on the lake. Lake Joseph is also accessible from Lake Rosseau, through either the narrows at Port Sandfield or the Joseph River. Similarly, Lake Rosseau cottagers can connect to Lake Muskoka via the Indian River and the Port Carling locks.
In the tradition of Lake Rosseau’s history as host to some of Muskoka’s earliest resorts, the renowned Windermere House and Windermere Golf and Country Club, now over a century old, bring visitors to the beautiful shores of Lake Rosseau every year, as does Cleveland’s House and the JW Marriott Rosseau Muskoka Resort and Spa, located in the town of Rosseau.

With its proximity to several bustling communities, wharfs, and marinas, Lake Rosseau offers cottagers access to great parks, shops, farmers markets, restaurants, and cultural activities and, for that reason, is a favourite for families. And while proximity to Rosseau and “The Ports” (Sandfield, Carling) is a huge plus for many, there is little trade-off in the way of scenery. Like its sister lakes, Lake Rosseau is renowned for its island-dotted views and iconic Muskoka landscape.
For Maggie, a deep understanding of the lakes—not only of their physical characteristics or market trends, but also of the lifestyle that is typical on each one—is crucial to delivering her clients the knowledge and information they need to make the best decision for their families and their futures.
